Cessna 185 taildraggers were adapted to light military service as the utility U-17. This footage, dated from the summer of 1968, depicts South Vietnamese Air Force U-17s at the Vietnamese Air Force Training Center. at Nha Trang. With the U-17 footage, other scenes depict activities in the training center. Watch for a retired Vietnamese F8F Bearcat on static display at about 8 minutes into this video. Students are seen in side-by-side cockpit trainers, likely representing early A-37 efforts for the Vietnamese Air Force. The South Vietnamese acquired about 100 U-17s.
