Những ngày Tết tha-hương
Nhớ về các bạn
có một thời cùng chung chiến tuyến.
Bên mâm rượu thịt ê-hề
nghe tâm tư xao-xuyến.
Nhớ lương khô, bi-đong nước lã
dưới chiến-hào.
Nhớ Tết Mậu Thân
máu hồng ướt đẫm chiến-bào.
Đuổi lũ giặc vô-thần
vì tự-do hạnh-phúc.
Nhớ những năm dài âm-thầm trong tù ngục,
Trao nhau củ khoai, điếu thuốc, chén nước trà.
Đời đen tối gian-lao
nhưng tình chiến-hữu không xa.
Sao trên đất tự-do
chúng mình lại không gắn bó!?
Vì sự mưu-sinh
hay vì những tị-hiềm bé nhỏ?
Chúng ta ngủ say
trong mưu chia rẽ của quân thù.
Thức tỉnh bạn ơi! Qua đêm tối âm-u,
Đoàn-kết lại! Đón ngày mai tươi-sáng.
Ngày mong ước của chúng ta đó bạn,
Về quê-hương phục-quốc dựng cờ vàng!

During the Tet while away from home
We think of friends
Who were on the front line with us.
Next to abundance of food and drink
We hear spirited opinion.
We remember the dry rations and the bland
Water down in the trenches.
We remember the "Tet Mau Than" offensive and
The blood soaked gear.
We drove back the godless enemy
In pursuit of freedom and happiness.
We remember the long lonely years
In our hearts...
Sweet potatoes, cigarettes and
Pots of tea were exchanged.
Life was dark and ominous
But friendship is never far away.
In this land of liberty
Why are we not close to each other !
Is it because we must work to survive
Or due to some insignificant trifle ?
In our reverie we forget the dissension
Sowed by the enemy.
Wake up dear friend !
Weather the dark night.
Reunite ! Greet the bright tomorrow.
Comrades ! Our yearning days are coming
Proudly bring back the national flag
For reconquering our homeland !
