Pilots assigned to the Screwtops of Airborne Early Warning (VAW-123) are awarded the Armed Forces’ Air Medal aboard the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69). They saved their E-2C Hawkeye from crashing into the sea after an arresting cable snapped while landing.
